The CanNeed-EBT-400 Buckle Tester is a precision instrument designed for food and beverage packaging quality control, specifically for testing the structural integrity of loose ends. It determines the exact pressure at which an end buckles. The system supports various end diameters through easily interchangeable parts and features three distinct testing modes: “Buckle Test,” “Missile Test,” and “Score Burst Test.”
Buckle Test Mode
Place the loose end in the holder and initiate the cycle. The pneumatic cylinder secures the sample and applies pressure at a user-defined rate. The test terminates automatically upon buckling, with the peak pressure value displayed on the interface.
Note: Results for loose ends typically measure 0.03 – 0.08 MPa higher than those for seamed ends.
Missile Test Mode
This mode simulates the opening of carbonated beverage cans to ensure consumer safety. It tests the "RP" (ring-pull) end under 0.6 MPa of force. If the ring or metal sheet within the annular score detaches during the rapid pull-up simulation, the sample is marked as disqualified.
Score Burst Test Mode
The system pressurizes the end to a pre-defined threshold. If the score is compromised during this process, the sample is disqualified.
